Brain-computer interfaces to treat neurological illnesses
Abhishek Bhattacharjee's research group builds computer systems of all scales, ranging from large-scale servers for data centers to embedded devices for brain-computer interfaces. They are interested in cognition in two ways: building high-performance and low-power chips and systems to treat neurological illnesses and enable direct brain input/output for computer systems, as well as using principles from the cognitive sciences to build more efficient computer systems.

Biography
Bhattacharjee received his bachelor's degree at McGill University and his PhD at Princeton University. He is interested in all aspects of computer systems, particularly the hardware/software interface. Abhishek was an Assistant Professor and then an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Rutgers University from 2010-2018 and joined the Yale Computer Science faculty in 2019. He also spent his sabbatical in 2016 as a visiting CV Starr Fellow at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, where he first began exploring the links between computer systems and the brain sciences.
